How Treatment Works

Adults and children alike can benefit from the results of orthodontic treatment.  A beautiful smile, improved dental health, improved facial profile and a boost in self-confidence can all be the results of treatment.  Orthodontic problems resulting from genetic and environmental factors must be properly diagnosed before treatment begins.

Orthodontics is both a science and an art.  Each individual case presents unique challenges with unique opportunities for achieving a beautiful and functional smile.  That is why we take the time necessary to fully diagnose and explain the details of our findings.  We are not in a hurry and will take the time needed to achieve excellent results.

An individual diagnosis and treatment plan is based upon the patient's history, clinical examination and diagnosis records.  This enables us to make informed decisions in determining what type of appliance will provide the best result for you or your child.  Treatment times vary depending upon the severity of the problem, as well as patient growth and compliance.  Treatment typically last two years.  Once treatment is completed, retainers are worn to maintain the results.

We believe in non-extraction treatment whenever possible.  For our younger patients, we stress early screenings and intervention when necessary.  This allows us to carefully monitor tooth and jaw development for your child.

We also offer innovative options in braces, particularly for our adult patients, including ceramic or clear braces.  Colorful rubber bands make braces fun for many of our younger patients.

In our practice, the doctor will always see each patient at every visit.  This type of one-on-one care is an essential part of our practice philosophy.
